Development and tradition

Barkas was established in 1987 by Eugeniusz Świderek in

Obroty, near Kołobrzeg. At the beginning, it was a small, family company, however thanks to regular investments and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, we managed to expand our product range and enhance the quality of our products.

Today Barks is a recognised, well-established brand whose products are sold in Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Romania and Poland. We strive for constant development and improvement of our products’ quality. We invest in technologies, equipment and people because we know that they are the pillars of our company.
Thanks to the EU funds, we implemented modern curing, vacuum packing and MAP technologies. We improved the attractiveness of our products and minimised their harmful effect on the environment. We care about all stages of the manufacturing process and our fish comes from trusted suppliers. Our products undergo constant quality checks. Currently, we produce over 40 species of smoked fish, from sprats to cold-smoked salmon. We also offer salted, frozen and fresh fish.
